How do I sign my document?

Notarize.ca uses electronic signatures for the online notary process.

To electronically sign your documents:

  1. Join your notary appointment

  2. Click on the document title in the My Documents panel

3. Your document will open up in a new tab - click Start

4. To add your signature, click on the signature box and draw, upload or type your signature, then click Accept and Sign

Don't worry if your signature doesn't look exactly like your handwritten signature - that's okay! It just needs to be a signature that you've created with your own hand.

6. Complete any other fields by clicking on them and adding the necessary information

7. When you have completed all fields, click on Finish in the upper right hand corner of the document

8. Close the Review and Sign tab to go back to your notary appointment

That's it!

The notary will complete the notarization and process payment.

You can download the notarized document and the receipt from your My Appointments page.
